With over 50 years’ experience.

Chris Smart first relocated to Elmbridge initially to Esher in 1978, before moving to East Molesey, and then Claygate where he established BTCS to run alongside the residential sales practice of Boyce Thornton (Estate Agents). The business has since relocated to Oxshott.

The Practice is able to provide valuable expertise on surveys, valuations, lettings and management in respect of a wide range of properties, including offices ,retail, warehouse and industrial units. We cover a range of disciplines including those needed for company accounts, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and for the Leasehold Reform Act.

We specialises in valuations of covenants and the negotiation of their release.

Over the last four years we have secured for clients planning consents for 6 and 8 house schemes within the Borough of Kingston upon Thames and have advised various clients upon development land values.

Chris Smart FRICS is the sole principal of Boyce Thornton Chartered Surveyors. He is a Chartered Valuation Surveyor who is a fellow, of and is regulated by, the RICS. He holds a Diploma in Estate Management. He and Michelle Minhinnick are the partners of Boyce Thornton Building & Party Wall Surveyors LLP. Michelle holds a first class degree in Building Surveying.
